New Welsh Blogger: Hywel Williams MP

Hywel Williams MP (Caernarfon)

Fi ydi Aelod Seneddol Caernarfon (neu Arfon ar ol yr etholiad nesaf, a chymeryd
y caf fy ail-ethol!). Rwyf yn AS ers 2001, a fy mhrif ddiddordebau gwleidyddol
yw Polisi cymdeithasol; Diwylliant a Iaith a'r celfyddydau.
Welcome to the blogosphere. This new addition is more welcomed than most due to its uniqueness among the majority of Plaid bloggers - in being a Plaid blog that actually links to a wide variety of non-Plaid blogs.

A rarity in the world of Welsh political blogging, and a new addition that simply doesn't just provide an act of blogging fallatio in a desperate attempt to seek approval from the master.

Nice to see that he refers to the House as "The Great House from Inside" and doesn't have contempt for it as Adam Price (unless he's being sarcastic).

If you don't like it Adam, move on. Ieuan won't want you to take the limelight from him in Cardiff Bay.

Hywel is a decent guy and not a prig like the other Plaid MP's.

David Cornock's a funny man.

"It would be rude not to welcome another Welsh blog, particularly one trying to make up for the lack of Welsh language print outlets"

I'm beginning to think that Plaid has started to pay people to blog on their behalf. The numbers have shot up since the beginning of this year.

I've noticed that not only has this blog become increasingly Tory but increasingly nasty - one and the same some might say. Funny how you keep using the fake blog contributors of senedd whip to do the dirty work.

Shame Miss Wagstaff this was a challanging read once. now its bitterness and a tory mouth piece

Anonymous 14 October 2008 at 10:58

Such a shame that because you attack Labour and the odd nationalist (not Hywel) that ceratin types think you're a tory.

As if it's only the tories that attack Labour and Plaid.

Some people are so narrow minded and feel the need to pidgeon hole people.

Anonymous 14 October 2008 at 11:07

True. There are sections of Labour that attack each other and those in Plaid which don't like the way the party is going.

I can't even remember a time when this blog attacked a lib dem.

The typical chant of Labour and Plaid in Wales... TORY TORY TORY TORY TORY!!!!!!!!

Pointing the finger and grunting at the same time.

I'm an avid reader of this blog down to my job.

It's fair to say that this blog pointed out that DET shouldn't be saying such things as Presiding Officer. Rather than uphold the monarchy the blog was defining how useful the prince of wales could be to Wales.

It also highlighted that perhaps Seb Coe is getting such flak in Wales because he's a tory as the allegations were unfounded and most blogs in Wales are nationalist.

Miss Wagstaff did post on the Bourne dossier and happened to agree with the content which was a fair analysis, even if it did go too far. Rhodri is a chump.

The Alun Cairns remark was hardly racism as we know it and is a non story, other than to those who want to use it for political capital. Even opposition politicians and journalists have defended Cairns as not being a racist and Welsh Italians have dismissed it all together.

There are obviously two sides to every argument as demonstrated in the comments. Perhaps you should read the description of this blog before making off the cuff remarks and assuming something that suits your political belief.

Remember - Plaid and Labour are in government in Wales so it's safe to assume that this is the reason why this blog exists in the first place. That doesn't necessarily make it a tory blog or a lib dem blog for that matter.

Suze (or should I say Miss Wagstaff) the very fact your so defensive about your blog being a Tory one makes me thing you work for them. If it is a Tory one (and I think there is very little doubt now) then just be proud of that!

I take issue with some of what you have said

Rather than uphold the monarchy the blog was defining how useful the Prince of Wales could be to Wales. – No what the blog actually said was

"In my opinion we have to accept certain arguments and facts. That being - our monarchy, or monarchy itself, is popular in the United Kingdom, and that happens to include Wales. I happen to think that it works well for us, and can't foresee the idea of monarchy dwindling in popularity in the near future, or in my lifetime for that matter." Rings of upholding the monarchy to me!

It also highlighted that perhaps Seb Coe is getting such flak in Wales because he's a Tory as the allegations were unfounded and most blogs in Wales are nationalist. - The comments are unfounded how? They were reported. Never denied by the paper. No full explanation or denial was given? None of the blogs posted anything negatively Tory about this. I would condemn the language irrespective of political choice. Only Miss Wagstaff seems to disagree!

Miss Wagstaff did post on the Bourne dossier and happened to agree with the content which was a fair analysis, even if it did go too far. Rhodri is a chump. - Where were the posts on Bourne attacking his own staff? On the personal rants against Morgan - on the summit to discuss Bourne's future - on Bourne's terrible showing on the politics show?

The Alun Cairns remark was hardly racism - Sorry but the word "Whop" in relation to Italians is racist. I don’t think cairns is a racist in his personality but certainly that outburst was. It has also lead to his suspension as a candidate and resignation from his positions in the assembly. Hardly a non story. Yet no word from this blog.

The evidence has been well hid but Tory HQ had to slip up sooner or later!

Anonymous (or should I say token nationalist blogger that doesn't read every word). It's clear that Miss Wagstaff doesn't rise to the bait by not commenting on her personal political views other that to poke fun at the accusations.

I like the way you've clearly ignored the following...

She clearly has wound you up.

Anonymous 14 October 2008 at 15:07

or I have clearly wound you up Suze (Miss Wagstaff) given you have totally been found out. totally ignored the fact i smashed all your other arguments to pieces!

as for this....

"There are obviously two sides to every argument as demonstrated in the comments. Perhaps you should read the description of this blog before making off the cuff remarks and assuming something that suits your political belief.

Remember - Plaid and Labour are in government in Wales so it's safe to assume that this is the reason why this blog exists in the first place. That doesn't necessarily make it a tory blog or a lib dem blog for that matter."

Yes i agree the reason this blog exists is because the Tory party are not in government so Miss Wagstaff or Miss Tory Staff has enough time on her/his hands to crack on.

Anonymous 14 October 2008 at 15:11

Or I can't see the point in repeating myself to a blinkered anonymous. ha ha

Anonymous 14 October 2008 at 15:24

And so the great Miss Tory Staff is defeated!

Miss Wagstaff 14 October 2008 at 15:34

I already have one child to look after and don't need another!

Comment Anonymous 13:38 deleted due to a naughty word. You know the rules.

Copied below:

"I think its more to do with the fact this blog was so outraged that anyone would dare say anything against the monarchy, the fact it claimed outrage against seb coe telling wales to f**k off was because he is a tory, the fact that very little was posted on nick bourne's doggy dossier - other than supporting it and the fact that Alun Cairns racism hardly registered, is the reason why people think - more than rightly so - that it is a tory mouth piece."

"fair credit though you hid it well for a good long while."
