The wrong Jane is leaving government
Betsan Powys of the BBC provides up with a quick bit of news before she heads off to conference:
Jane Davidson, thought of at one time as a possible Labour leadership candidate, has told her party in Pontypridd that she's standing down at the next Assembly election. She made it clear last year that she wouldn't be going for the leadership but told a meeting last night that she won't fight the seat in 2011.
Jane Hutt on the other hand will also be leaving the government in 2011 by other means.

Jane Davidson is one of a very few ministers that come across in a professional manner.
Suppose another Labour nomark will be parachuted into the Pontypridd constituency.
Can Kinnock be persuaded to make a comeback?
Bloody hell!!! I've just realised that Glenys Kinnock will be available by 2011.
Say No to Gin-ger AMs!
Is it too rude to celebrate the news that Jane Davidson will be leaving the Assembly? She has done terrible, and long-lasting, damage to Wales' higher education sector with her insistence, as Minister for Education, on bigging up Uni Glamorgan (which was in her constituency) and trying to force evrything else that's not part of Glam or Cardiff Univ to merge. She also created the massive funding gap which sees Welsh HEIs serioulsy disadvantaged compared to those in England.
Met her a few times, seemed a capable enough person. Certainly head and shoulders above some other AMs.
